About
With a presence in Québec since 1851, the YMCA aims to inspire and encourage everyone to reach their full potential, thrive and contribute to their community.
For 35 years, the YMCAs of Québec have been organizing the annual YMCA Peace Medals.
This event honours citizens and companies who contribute to building more united and harmonious communities. It also helps us raise money to help youth succeed in school and in life.
More than ever, our young people need you.
This past year has particularly impacted young people. They were out of school for several months, losing their social networks and the trusted adults in their life, among others.
The Y is therefore working with them to rebuild, one young person at a time: not only through school success programs and TeenZones, but most importantly through caring and attentive staff and volunteers who support, encourage, and motivate them.
Thanks to the donations received last year, we have been able to help thousands of young people. More than ever, your donations will make a huge difference in their lives.
I have been involved in the YMCAs of Québec Foundation since 2013, because I share the same values of caring, inclusion and solidarity. For me, giving back is synonymous with the gift that keeps on giving. Each year, I look forward to celebrating the new laureates. In the context of the pandemic, we will be doing it a little differently this year, but this celebration is still just as important, and our support is more essential than ever.
— Janie Thélémaque, Annual participant at the YMCA Peace Medals
Thanks to you, the 2021 YMCA Peace Medals raised $282,000 to support children, teens, and families.
We are so touched to be able to count on such a strong and committed community. To everyone who donated, participated in the auction, or shared our posts in your networks to promote our cause, thank you! We never could’ve done this without you.
