The French language is spoken in more than 50 countries in the world and there are more than 200 million French speakers all over the five continents. Each of the countries where French is spoken has its own specific linguistic features, which leads to the fact that the linguistic reality of a region differs from that of the other. French spoken in Paris is not quite like the French spoken in Toulouse although both are cities in France. Geographical and cultural differences give birth to semantic, phonetic and syntactic differences.
The objective of the course “French in Quebec” is to allow students who already comfortably use French to get familiar with specific features of the French spoken in Quebec. Among these features are pronunciation, grammar as well as everyday vocabulary and common expressions. This will undoubtedly improve the quality of what they experience in Quebec whether as a traveller or a resident.
    40-hour program – from Monday to Friday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
